Lynda Hutcheson
MACP (in progress), Clinical Intern
Lynda is inspired by her respect for the dignity of all people, as they each manage the unique experiences, challenges, questions, and values of their own lives. By offering a safe, compassionate, and curious environment for exploration, Lynda can help people deepen their self-understanding and develop new perspectives and skills to improve their emotions and relationships. Informed by person-centered, narrative, and existential therapies, Lynda also uses cognitive and skills-based techniques to help clients cope with difficult thoughts and emotions and find purpose and joy in their lives. Lynda has worked with youth in a variety of roles and settings, and she continues to learn more every day from her own teenagers.
Lynda deeply honours the importance of cultural identity and the value of culture-based strengths. She grew up in Toronto and loved its diverse and stimulating environment. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology, which enriched her understanding of the many ways that humans perceive and experience meaning in their lives. Drawn to the north, Lynda moved to the Yukon more than 25 years ago. She has also lived and worked in the western arctic, where she gained a deep appreciation for the traditional knowledge and cultural heritage of the Inuvialuit and Gwich’in communities. Lynda uses a collaborative
approach that builds on her client’s strengths, preferences and priorities.
