Adam Thompson, MC, BA, GDPSR (Graduates Diploma Psychosocial Rehabilitation)
Adam is a born and raised Yukoner.
He believes that counselling is based on a human connection that provides a safe space for people to explore their needs collaboratively.
A therapist who follows a path of being genuine, compassionate, and enquiring of a person's needs can help show how to engage in self-regarding practices, help them express their hopes and aspirations, identify personal strengths, and enhance their well-being.
His approaches are through a cognitive behavioural and eastern mindfulness lens that allows for self-motivation and awareness during the therapeutic process.
Adam has worked in the field of counselling and fitness for over 20 years. Including the Tk'emlúps te Secwe̓pemc First Nation in Kamloops as a Youth Resource worker and the last ten years with the Yukon Government's Health and Social Department.
In his spare time, Adam owns and operates his own spinning class company and is involved in community rescue dogs and cats.
He is currently accepting clients from the ages of 12 to adult and has worked with individuals, couples, as well as groups while developing client therapeutic approaches.
