Valerie Smith
MACP (in progress), Clinical Intern
Valerie’s counselling practice focuses on anxiety, relationship dynamics, attachment, stress management, couples counselling, and specialized support for first responders. Her approach is collaborative, solution-focused, and trauma-informed, centered on the belief that meaningful change happens when clients feel met where they are in a safe and supportive environment.
She brings a unique perspective to this work, informed by over 11 years of frontline experience as a 911 dispatcher, which provided her with a profound understanding of crisis, resilience, and the importance of strong support systems.
Since moving to Whitehorse two years ago, she has embraced the community and can often be found hiking in the summer or snowboarding in the winter. Valerie is dedicated to creating a respectful and inclusive space where every client feels truly heard and supported.
